Pediatric Occupational Therapist
welcome
What is Occupational Therapy?
The first time most families hear about occupational therapy is when their child is referred by their teacher, speech therapist, or pediatrician. The name occupational therapy (OT) can be confusing because people tend to associate occupation with jobs.
The job of a child is to play, grow, learn, and build relationships. We often don't think about the daily occupations a child has until they have trouble doing them. A pediatric occupational therapist assesses a child's development to understand why the child may be having trouble in a given occupation whether it be making friends, playing, or writing, to name a few.
Pediatric OT is like a superhero sidekick for kids who need a little extra help. We have fun activities to help develop or strengthen the skills kids need support with.
Let's get started on this adventure together!
